She reaches out and Carver ducks his head so she can touch his hair. She doesn't wrench it, doesn't try to get him off balance or shove a knife in his throat, so he figures that's a good start and so he puts his hands on her hips, squeezing faintly, and kisses her back. He matches her pace.
